You are a first time college student if this is the first time you are attending any college!

 What is Teacher TRAC?

 First Steps....

button Step 1: Admission to Cerritos College

button Admissions and Records, 562.860.2451, ext. 2211

Fill out an admission’s application and return it to Admissions and Records or apply online (proof of residence may be required.) We recommend having official transcripts from any high school or college that you’ve attended sent directly to Cerritos College Admissions and Records or submit them to a counselor during an appointment or an Orientation Workshop.

button Step 2: Assessment Placement Testing

button Career Services, 562.860.2451, ext. 2356

Take the English, reading and math placement tests.  The tests assess your math, language, and reading skill levels.  Just bring your student number and a photo ID on the test day and plan on arriving about 1/2 hour before the scheduled test.  If you intend to take English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, take the ESL test before registration.  All tests are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, with no appointment required.  Assessment test schedules and sample tests can be picked up at the Career Services Center or you can visit the Assessment Testing Center's webpage for an online test schedule.  For helpful tips, please click here for a Student Guide.  Parking is available in lot C-1.  You may purchase a $1 daily permit from the yellow "Park-Ur-Self" meters.

  button Step 3: Orientation Workshop

button Counseling Center, 562.860.2451, ext. 2231

There are two ways to make an appointment, by phone or on the Internet.

1. Phone: You may call Counseling (562-860-2451, ext.2231) today, and schedule an orientation workshop that works with your schedule.

2. Online: If the Internet is more convenient, visit New Student Orientation to select the workshop that is most convenient and complete the online form.

New students are required to attend Orientation before registration. Please bring unofficial/official high school and/or college transcripts to the Orientation Workshop. When additional assistance is needed prior to enrollment, counselors are available on a walk-in basis in the Counseling Center.

If you are an international student, contact the International Student Center for counseling and orientation information. This workshop includes a presentation, campus tour, course selection, and academic advisement with a counselor.

button Step 4: Registration at Cerritos College

button Admissions and Records, 562.860.2451, ext. 2211

Once you have completed the Orientation Workshop, you will receive a registration appointment.
This appointment allows you to register
Online or by Falcon Phone.

button Step 5: Get official Academic Counseling

button Counseling Center, 562.860.2451, ext. 2231

Counselors are available to assist you with your educational planning year-round. You are strongly recommended to make an appointment with a counselor early in the semester to ensure that your educational plan accurately reflects your educational goal. The appointments are 30 minutes in duration.

If you need accommodations with any of these activities due to a disability, please contact
Disabled Student Programs & Services (DSPS) at 562.860.2451, ext. 2333
